Application for permanent residence
A permanent residence is when a citizen has been given permanent resident status in the Slovak Republic. A citizen can only have one permanent residence at the same time. Family members, or for other citizens living in the same household, may declare a residence of the family members or persons living with them in the same household. It is mandatory for these citizens to submit the required documents.
For people under 15 and people with diminished capacity, it is required that they report the residence of their legal representatives or guardian.
Other citizens, who due to their health condition are not able to report the permanent residence can fulfill this obligation in writing through their authorized representative.
To submit the application for a permanent residence in the village of Volkovce, citizens are required to submit the necessary documents at the Municipal Office in Volkovce in person.
The citizens are not required to deregister from the previous place of residence. This will be canceled on the basis of deregistering ticket automatically sent, when applying for the new place of residence.
Required documents:
- The owner or co-owner of the building:
– valid identity card or proof of identity card issued by the police, or if it is a child under the age of 15 years, the legal guardian of that child’s must present the birth certificate of this child.
– valid travel document for the Slovak Republic, or a certificate of citizenship for the Slovak Republic, if the person does not have an identity card, or a proof of identity card issued.
– deed, not older than 3 months (not printed from the Internet) (does not required to be issued for legal acts)
- A spouse:
– valid identity card or proof of identity card issued by the police
– notice of marriage
- A Tenant:
– valid identity card or proof of identity card issued by the police
– the lease contract between the owner or all the co-owners for an indefinite period

Resident without a beneficial estate or propriety document to real estate:
– valid identity card or proof of identity card issued by the police
– written confirmation of consent of permanent residency, with the attested signature of the owner or co-owners of any building or part of a building leased; This confirmation is not required if the owner or all the co-owners of the building or part of a part of the building leased, sign to confirm the application for a permanent residence in presence of the Registration Office employee.
Application for permanent residence within the village
Citizens are required to report to the local authority any changes within the municipality of Volkovce.
Application for temporary residence
Temporary residence in the municipality of Volkovce is registered at the Municipal office, where the person resides outside their country of residence for more than 90 days; this application also applies to citizens permanently living abroad if their stay in the Slovak Republic will be longer than 90 days.
The estimated temporary residence can be maximum five years. When reporting temporary residence, the citizens must submit all documents as in the case of reporting the permanent residence.
When reporting the temporary residence for citizens living abroad, valid travel document of Slovak Republic must be presented.
A certificate of permanent/temporary residence
The Municipal office can issue a certificate of permanent residence for citizens upon request. To issue this document citizens must produce a valid identity card and pay an administrative fee of 5, – Euros.
Revocation of residence
The owner or all the co-owners of the building or part of the leased premises where a building or part of the lease is rented, or the tenant may file for the annulment of permanent residence of citizens, who do not have a right of use at the building or any part of the building, at the reporting office (Municipal Office Volkovce). A request for the annulment of permanent residence may not be filed against the owner, co-owner spouse or dependent child of the owner, co-owner or tenant. In this case, the applicant files the application, presents a valid identity card and deed not older than three months.
